For a number of years Sharon Heeley, from Scarborough Cottage, Overbury, has been a fund-raiser for The Genesis Research Trust. The charity funds research in better health for women and babies. Most of us know someone who has struggled with infertility, experienced the trauma of miscarriage or still birth or fallen ill with a female cancer. Only 2% of medical fund-raising supports women's health, so Sharon is trying to do her bit to change that!
Sharons efforts start back in 2011, when she cycled 450km across Beijing and raised just over £4,000. Last year she cycled from Panama, through Costa Rica in to Nicaragua, raising £3,500. She has launched this years fund-raising with a fantastic Prize Draw:
